Man shot near Cherry Tree Crossing

A man is in the hospital after being shot Thursday evening near Cherry Tree Crossing public housing complex.

At about 6 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1600 block of Luckey Street in regard to an injured person and found a man who’d been shot in the back, according to a press release from Sgt. Shane McDaniel.

The man was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center, but his condition and identity were not immediately available.

No information was provided on a possible suspect.

Sad example

and here it is 12 hours later and no one has commented on it.

My guess is Shootings and other serious problem are so common place in this area that no one any longer cares.

But once the few bad elements in Cherry Tree get section 8'd we start caring again.

Could it be

That no one commented because it was near Cherry Tree Crossing and not in the development itself. From what on I saw on News 12 @ 11, there were single family homes on both sides of the street.
