Bond was denied Thursday for a woman accused of sending a disabled man to the hospital.

Shirley J. White, 41, has pleaded not guilty in Richmond County Superior Court to a charge of aggravated assault. She is accused of attacking Carl Toole, disabled from spinal surgery and a tracheotomy, on Aug. 3. Assistant District Attorney Grant Usry told the judge Toole needed medical treatment after the incident.

Judge Michael N. Annis denied bond for White, but he told defense attorney Lyndsey Hix, of the public defender’s office, that he would reconsider if there is a delay in disposing of the criminal case.
