Augusta woman robbed at gunpoint inside home

Police say a man robbed a woman at gunpoint inside her home Tuesday, leaving with $400 in cash.

About 12:10 a.m., Sharon Harris, of Augusta, said a man who goes by “Dennis” came to her house on Curry Street looking for her nephew “because he was a snitch,” according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

When Harris said she didn’t know where her nephew was, the suspect became angry, pulled a handgun and demanded Harris hand over whatever money she had.

Harris gave the suspect $400, which she had set aside for rent.
