Man accused of pimping denied bond

Bond was denied Friday for a man arrested earlier this month on a charge of trafficking a person for sexual servitude.

Earthell Tyler, 29, will remain in the county jail pending possible indictment and trial in Richmond County Superior Court.

Tyler was arrested Oct. 2 at the Motel 6 on Boy Scout Road. Narcotics officers responding to complaints of drugs and prostitution arrested Tyler, said Assistant District Attorney John O’Neal. Two woman with Tyler told officers that he moved them from state to state to have sex with customers solicited through an internet website.

The women, ages 22 and 25, said Tyler wouldn’t let them call family or friends and never let them have any money, O’Neal said. Tyler allegedly said he used threats of violence to keep them in line, O’Neal said.

Tyler, of Columbia, S.C., has prior convictions for forgery and larceny, conspiracy and possession of stolen property.
