An Augusta man is accused of stabbing an employee at The Playground during a fight at the bar early Saturday.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies arriving at the Broad Street bar at 2:14 a.m. learned that Christian Villalba, 24, and Jorge Villalba, 29, had been fighting in the back, an incident report said.

Witnesses said Christian Villalba waved a wood- and silver-handled pocket knife with a 2-inch blade. Nathan Hagy, 28, was stabbed in the hip when he tried to break up the fight, the report said.

The Villalbas – who share an address but whose relationship wasn’t specified in the report – fled with an unidentified third suspect and left the knife near the bar’s entrance.

Christian Villalba was arrested and faces felony charges of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, jail records show.

Hagy, who said he was also punched in the face during the altercation, was treated at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

Were either of the Villalbas legal U.S. citizens? Will Travis Highfield take the time to inform us readers?

The real story is:

Nathan Hagy The bar employee / Hero, who was willing to step in placing himself at risk to stop a potential murder and was stabbed in the process.

My hats off to you Sire, for likely saving someones life last night.

While we can easily find a picture of the Attacker.

Could the AC post a picture of the local Hero?

Bars Open Till 5 am?

If the bars stayed open until 5 am as some misguided souls have proposed, I wonder what the carnage would look like?

what assumptions

Little Lamb...my maiden name is Cruz. Am I a mail order bride?? Do you ask the citizenship of all criminals or just the ones with names that sound hispanic? If it's the latter, which I assume it is, you sir are a racist butthead.

It is of public interest when illegals commit crimes and more often than not their residency status is purposely not mentioned by police nor media. You'll have to ask them as to why.

Now, why is that this information is important? 1. Because ICE these days is not deporting many unless they 'are a real danger to society and commit crimes. 2. It's been reported by those outlets and reporters who're willing to speak out on these things that the majority of those fleeing Mexico are already law breakers there. The best and brightest are staying behind and doing well, the deadbeats, criminals, and druggies make up the rats abandoning ship down there. We're getting the bottom of the gene pool. Yeah, I'd like to know when someone is arrested here for serious crimes if the're here legally and if not I expect them to be punished and sent back to Mexico. ( not pardoned, paroled and put back on the streets to continue to hurt us)

thelastword - having lived in Gwinnett Co.

From 2001-2005+ 43+% of all fights, DUI, and driving without a license and no Insurance, involved South of the Border Illegals than any other group.

After the 2008 Housing market died in Atlanta, a steady increase of South of the Border Illegals moved into South Carolina.

Having this fight occur the night of the Hispanic Festival and given certain circumstances, I too would have asked if RCSO ran a citizen residency check.

Because like in Gwinnett, way too times the criminal is bonded out and was never seen in court. Leave Accident Criminal victims looking at no justice or recover their losses.

But, If you are going to use a English word learn its meaning. Racist: The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.

So asking a question about a situation DOES NOT make one a racist.

However, challenging a persons right to ask the question and not address the question, or labeling a person with derogatory names is called Hate Speech and commonly used by Liberals and Fascists when they are trying to avoid the question.

But I guess given your tossed around mistaken use of the word You have come to label just about anyone this way. So I am also a racist and so is every Police officer, firearms dealer, loan officer, hospital administrations clerk, daycare, school, etc. etc... in the USA. Because, we would all ask the question about the persons citizenship status.

BTW: I am not a WASP and my wife is Hispanic / Caribbean Native Indian. Our family has helped a number of LEGAL Green Carded families work through the process to become US citizens.

Our family has Mexican, Cuban, Bubba, Bubbet, Caribbean Native Indians, Heniz 57's, and more favors married into or blood relatives in the family.

An 5, soon to be 6 grand kids have Hispanic linage.
But given this background our AMERICAN family still understands ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL.

Jorge has a rap sheet going

Jorge has a rap sheet going back 10 years, including robbery, for which he was given parole. One would presume that if he were an illegal alien that it would've come out back then.
