Suspect sought, 2 caught after holdup

Police are searching for a bandit after an armed robbery at Family Dollar on Central Avenue.

According to a statement from police, two men entered the store at 9:41 a.m. Thursday and demanded money at gunpoint. The bandits took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business as well as money and other items from employees and two delivery men.

They fled in a black Chevrolet Caprice driven by a third man.

Deputies began chasing the vehicle after spotting it on Battle Row. The chase continued to Washington Road at Center West Parkway until the three men ran from the vehicle.

Two suspects were caught, and money and a gun were recovered. The third person, described as a black male in a dark shirt and khaki or camouflage pants, is still on the loose.
