Ricky Lee Goree, 45, was shot in his hip and ankle; and James Antonio Overton, 34, was shot in the buttocks. Both men were in stable condition.

The suspects were described only as black men wearing masks, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

They were believed to be driving a Chevrolet Impala, model year 2006 to 2008, with dark tinted windows. The vehicle has been seen often in the Harrisburg area, police said.

Jerry Stubbs, 66, said he was sitting in his living room a little after 2 p.m. when he heard the gunshots next door.

“There had to have been more than 10 shots from those shotguns,” he said.

“I was just watching a movie when I heard them. I got up and looked out the window and saw four guys running away.”

Stubbs said the men left in a gold or brown Chevrolet sedan, heading north on Wrights Avenue.

Stubbs said he thinks his neighbors have lived in the house for only a few weeks.

“That’s the first time anything like that has happened over here,” he said. “It’s usually pretty quiet.”

Good thing

the homeowners were not armed and did not have any dangerous weapons in their house which they could have used to defend themselves!
Oh, wait....

Moving Day

It seems I remember a home break-in a week or so ago where the victims had recently moved into the home. I wonder if this is a ring of burglars who get tip-offs from moving company employees?

From the sound of things.....

...for this to have happened in broad daylight tells me it was not a random act of robbery.......it seems as if somebody owed somebody else some "jack" yo..
I live close enough to where this happened, to say that it is
a good thing the invasion did not happen at my house or the headline would have read;
"Thugs Carried Out in Body Bags".
Put THAT in yo blunt and smoke it...know what I'm sayin?..

Passed by there on my way

Passed by there on my way back from lunch. One man laying in the street with all the paramedics around him and several police cars. Streets were full of the neighbors. WHY were they not at work? The next block had neighborhood reps siting on the front porch drinking beer, next house another standing on the porch with no shirt and the next house another talking on her cell which by the looks of her she could not afford. Classy area(Ha Ha) but not classy neighbors.

Again JRC...

....This was not "random"....This was folk who would rather sling dope than work. And, if in the meantime, ME as a taxpayer can hand 'em a food stamp card and an Obama phone...who am I to say that "dis ain't dey cultcha"...
A part of me is ashamed to have to say these things....but I'm even more ashamed that these types of events are where our WHOLE culture has devolved to...

I Ain't

gonna say I wished it had happened at my house. I hope to never have to defend my homestead. I can only imagine it would create an awful mess. What with when the dog finishes up with them. Or heaven forbid, if they manage to shoot him! Then I do that Ninja flip, you know the freeze in the air shooting from two AKs, while motion slows down. Then when I land I immediately go into another flip and land on the car, punching my fist through the windshield to yank the surviving attacker out and rip his heart out.

Oh wait, when a car I don't recognize rides up, I slide out the secret door of the Cave and watch with The Judge by my side.

Oh what's the difference? It will never happen, cause I didn't just move in.

I remember many years ago,

I remember many years ago, Harrisburg was a blue collar working class neighborhood with not that many problems. Growing up I went to the Boys Club at Chafee Park and played Little League at Allen Park. Section 8 housing was the death of Harrisburg and many south Augusta neighborhoods. Like a malignant cancer, it is spreading to neighborhoods near you.

I wonder...

Many of these individuals who enjoy living the "alternative culture" appear to have been displaced from "de projects". When Cherry Tree Crossing is taken down thousands more will flood out into the community bearing section 8 vouchers. As ambassadors of the "alternative culture" they will bring murder, mayhem, and blight with them. Anyone who can design a self sustaining commune of substantial size which could be used to "rehabilitate" these culturally deprived (depraved?) persons could make a fortune and the nation could begin to rid itself of these life sucking parasites.

I can't believe you'd say such a thing! We all know this was a liberal program designed to uplift the less fortunate. And it has worked so well...just like most other lefty programs.

Yes both Vic's have minor arrest records.

But nothing I can locate yet related to drugs.
Nothing Major, just Show cause and a recent driving w/o a license.

The home invasion in the middle of the day is odd though.

rebellious - I have a sign posted on my property

Warning My Dog Eat what I shoot.

But having been greeted by your dog a few weeks ago.
I don't think you'd get much of a chance to shoot anything, before your dog eats it 1st.

Statistically Home Invasion

a learning moment for me about typical times

Higher income households experienced lower rates of home invasion.

About 50% involve a weapon, 38% result in of “assaults” and 60% in “rapes” during a home invasion.

Victims aged 60 or over made up only 17% of home invasion victims, so this means 21-59 y/o account for 73%.

In 68% of the cases, the victim and accused were strangers, 21% of the time they were casual acquaintances, and 11% of the time they were relatives, friends, or had some type of "business" relationship.

Community home invasions tend to happen in the afternoon closely between 1:30pm - 2:00 P.M. At this time of the day, young children and mothers are home, it is before schools let out, and before the Husbands come home from work.

Most last 5-8 minutes.

"I'll call 911 and hide under the bed mentality."
If you can't shoot them, work with them to get them out of the house WITHOUT YOU or your Family , quickly as possible.

RCSO can't be everywhere .

I saw that.

To quote our illustrious VP, "Get a shotgun, get a shotgun".

So far, that makes at least five (5) thugs who have taken his advice.

And five more potential votes for OzBama/ Biden/Clinton.

Random?

4 men enter a house with shotguns, shoot 2 unarmend men and then leave around 2pm in the afternoon??? So whats the MO? I don't think it was robbery thats for sure unless they had something they really wanted. Could be payback time. Who knows. Can you say drug deal gone bad.
