Jail records show Reginald L. Price, 44, was arrested Sept. 11 and is facing two felony sexual battery charges.

Assistant Superintendent Carol Rountree said C.T. Walker Magnet School custodian Reginald Lavern Price, 44, of North Augusta, was taken into custody on two counts of felony child molestation over incidents at Murphey Middle School and at C.T. Walker.

Jail records show Price, who was arrested Wednesday evening, is being held on two counts of felony sexual battery.

Board of Education Police Chief Alfonzo Williams said the department began investigating after a 13-year-old girl said she was touched inappropriately this month. The department found another case involving a second 13-year-old girl in January 2012. The case, which sat dormant for more than a year, was reopened.

“At that time, the officer investigating the case just didn’t find enough to move forward at that point,” Williams said.

After conducting interviews and gathering evidence, Williams said, he consulted with the district attorney’s office before obtaining arrest warrants.

“The incident will be handled by the Human Resources Department,” the school system said in a statement. “Any decision regarding employment of Mr. Price will be announced by the superintendent following a complete investigation.”

two incidents, at two different schools.

It look like this guy must be related to someone on the BOE. Just Saying........Why was he put at C.T Walker after the first incident? Let's see how long the BOE take to get rid of him now. Hopefully he'll stay behind BARS where he BELONG.

Given the statement

A few questions I have based on the Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 3:26 PM Last updated Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 1:13 AM Article

Will the RCBOE try to handle this internally, or turn it over to the court system?

If he makes bail will he be allowed to return to work?

Is he on Paid Leave?

Unpublished

Have mercy, nocnoc, his employment status will be decided by the BOE Human Resources Dept. He was ARRESTED, so the court will determine his fate under the criminal charges. Two separate entities.

palmetto1008 - less you forget

the RCBOE in the last 4 years has had $1000's of dollars stolen from Admin funds & student collected funds, fights between teachers, threats of assault by a principle, Students assaulting teaching and sexual assualts between student not tried in GA courts, Plus, RCBOE items misused & abused, BUT I don't remember 1 employee going to jail. Given many of these listed were felonies, I am sure at least 1 scape goat has, given all the situations listed.

So I think the question whether RCBOE will handle it internally having seen the carefully worded comment: “The incident will be handled by the Human Resources Department,” is valid.

My questions of Admin leave with pay and if bonded out, will he be allowed to return to work until the RCBOE investigation is completed also valid.
