Authorities are calling the death of a man whose body was found Friday at his home in Elbert County a homicide.

Deputies responded to Rodney L. McDuffie’s home on Porter Drive outside the city of Elberton at about 4:35 p.m. Friday and found that the 45-year-old resident was deceased, according to an announcement released Monday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The reason why deputies went to the victim’s home and other details were not immediately available from the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office or the GBI, which was asked to assist in the investigation.

No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon, according to the GBI’s news release.
