Vacuums stolen from remanufacturing company

A New Savannah Road company reported that more than $3,000 worth of vacuum cleaners and other supplies was stolen this week.

Police were called to America Remanufacturing Co., 1219 New Savannah Road, twice for different incidents involving stolen vacuums, according to sheriff’s incident reports.

On Tuesday, an owner notified officers that someone had cut a gate to gain entry to the grounds and had stolen two pallets of Dirt Devil products from the loading docks. The missing items included 24 upright vacuums, 41 bagless canister models, oneQuick Vac, 500 pounds of vacuum cords and miscellaneous cleaning solutions. The owner told police the theft occurred between 1 p.m. Monday and 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Police returned about 10 a.m. Wednesday and learned that overnight, someone had stolen about $1,500 worth of vacuum cleaners from an unsecured trailer at the loading dock. The exact number of stolen vacuums from that incident was not immediately available.
