An argument at a boarding house Monday evening led to a stabbing that sent one resident to the hospital and the other to jail, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Calvin Chew said in a statement that the victim, Sonny Burdick, 40, got into an argument with another resident, Brannon Osgood, at their boarding house at 631 Crawford Ave. Osgood, 53, allegedly stabbed Burdick, and deputies found the victim with at least two wounds in the upper torso.

Burdick was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center and was listed in critical condition, according to Chew. A hospital spokeswoman said Monday night that she had no information on that patient.

Osgood was arrested at the scene and is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

It Seems Both have Arrest Histories

Both have had previous run-ins with the law.

Is this some type of 1/2 House?

This is Mercy Ministries and

This is Mercy Ministries and has been the worst thing to ever happen to Harrisburg. Funny that the AC did not name the place. The guy in custody has been roaming the streets of Harrisburg for years. He is mentally unstable and tyoically drunk. We know him very well on Crawford Ave.

Phew!

Thought it was time for a thicker set of lenses! :-) It wouldn't be the first time my eyes played tricks on me. Kinda was hoping that was the case with the GA/Clemson game!

RE: This did not happen @ Mercy Ministries

Just to be clear, this incident happened at 631 Crawford Ave and not on Mercy Ministries property. Just because a person or people receive services through Mercy Ministries, or just come in to get a meal everyday, does not mean they represent what Mercy Ministries is or does. We help Alot of people all over Richmond county and some people will take any incident in that area and blame it on Mercy Ministries.

Mercy Ministries...

...needs to answer some of the charged being leveled at them by the residents of Harrisburg. It is simple if you have nothing to hide the truth will set you free and quiet your critics.

Just to be clear

This did happen because Mercy Ministries attracts the kind of people who behave in this fashion. It is no surprise to anyone that this sort of thing happens continuously. This type of activity very much represents what Mercy Ministries has been and continues to be. A blight on the neighborhood! They are poorly organized and run. There is virtually no supervision or control. They need to be shut down!
