Russell County sheriff’s Sgt. Grover Goodrich testified at a court hearing that Michael “Money Mike” Tucker gave a written statement saying voodoo and voices in his head led him to kill Sgt. 1st Class Donald LaShon Wilson in April.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that the soldier was slain in Russell County in Alabama, just across the state line from the Georgia base.
Prosecutors accuse Tucker of being part of a plot to kill the soldier so his wife Gloria Denise Wilson could collect about $450,000 in military death compensation. Authorities also charged Travis Leonard, who they say was having an affair with Wilson’s wife.
