About 5 a.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1800 block of Welsh Lane, where Williams White said he found three black males inside his 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, according to an incident report.

When White approached the SUV, the suspects started the vehicle and tried to leave. After driving 10 feet, they stopped the vehicle and ran.

Police later arrested Keunte Loreon Green, 17, of Cook Road, and charged him with theft of a motor vehicle, jail records show.

While in custody, Green admitted to burglarizing a home in the 1800 block of Green Street just minutes after the first incident.

About 5:12 a.m., deputies met with Natasha McBride, who told them she came home and heard someone inside her house, an incident report said.

When she shouted that she would call the police, the suspects ran out the back door. McBride said that a rear window had been pried open and two televisions had been moved to the back door.

Green also was charged with burglary.

If he was home

If he was home and in bed like he should have been no one would be reading his name in the paper today. I remember when I was 17 and thought I was grown enough to stay out pass my curfew. I found myself making my bed on the front porch until the door was open the next day. Then I had to call the police department to let them know that I was not missing. That was more embarrassing than having to sleep on the porch.

JMO - 17 y/o

It would be a toot to hear the excuse of what the 17y/o's mama has to say about her "baby"

I am holding out for:
"My baby has a medical condition, he has Spontaneous Fits of Crime."

The Mother

watched Bonanza a lot and like Lorne Green.
So she culturalized her babies name so he'd fit in with society.
I looked, there is zero resemblance.

The RCSO are looking for:
Little Jo'
Big Hos,
who are thought to be the accomplishes.

Just joking....

Hope nobody got scratched or bruised during the chase

These poor babies were just in "the wrong place at the wrong time". Maybe we get get Mama to speak at the county commission meeting about it.

Phonetically, Keunte is the same name as

John Amos' heroic character in Alex Haley's novel "Roots".

If the boy's mother was hoping to imbue in her son the same strength and traits as Kunta Kinte, she now knows (hopefully) that parenting goes a lot deeper and is, in fact a 24-7-365 job.

In her defense, the entitlement mentality we endure now in this nation has, and is damning thousands of young people to a lifetime of failure, rejection and alienation.

Yes, with strong parenting a virtual handful can and do rise above it all. But most will never make it and will live out their lives in the shadows of society.

At the risk of over simplification, if self respect and a sense of personal responsibility were to be taught by parents and demanded by society, much of the burden of crime and dependency as we know it would not exist.

What's the big deal

The house is still standing......the car is ok......just a few "teens" out having some fun.....let the sheriff go talk to them.....I'm sure they will listen and walk the straight and narrow.....

It's a shame..

It's a shame neither of the home owners was armed and was able to shoot and kill the little thugs. These pieces of excrement will get off with a slap on the wrist and go back to stealing. It's best to exterminate these vermin before they do any more damage.
