Bullet fired into Augusta man's home

  • Follow Crime & courts

An Augusta man called Richmond County authorities Thursday after discovering that a bullet had been fired into his home overnight.

The 60-year-old said he was outside his home on the 100 block of D Court checking a water valve when he noticed a hole in a window, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

When a deputy arrived, he went inside the home and followed the bullet’s trajectory. According to his notes, the bullet passed through a TV and struck a wall. It was found underneath a dresser that held the TV.

The homeowner thinks the shot was fired between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Obvisously

he does not watch a lot of evening TV.

Questions:
Does the trajectory indicate if it came from vehicle height or a straight Line into the house?

No word if the shot was traced back in the other direction,
to see IF was an accident discharge from another D-Court apt?

Is it really a waste of time

Is it really a waste of time to try to find out where every bullet fired in Augusta came from? Well, I was really tired of hearing gunshots, ducking them, repairing broken windows and consoling children over dead and injured pets. I would like to know where those shots were coming from.

AL, of course you are right. I was being a little sarcastic. I understand your concerns about your neighborhood.

I'm sorry AL but that would make me leave in a split minute....they could call me all the whitey slangs they want but it wouldn't matter....I would rather live in a box than worry with fear that the next bullet would hit my child/pet...

THIS is exactly what causes the "flight".

Not really a waste of time

IF there is also hole in a window across the street where it came from. Where the Baby daddy says the Baby Mama "left" suddenly in the middle of the night without a forwarding address after shooting at him and his other girlfriend while standing on a red stained carpet.

All joking said

Don't worry SeenitB4, the

Don't worry SeenitB4, the children and I escaped to another neighborhood and as they graduated, left Augusta for college, the "now ex" still lives there, but the gutless wonders (criminal types) don't seem to have targeted him and most of the problem "families" have been evicted from their homes in the subdivision since we left and/or are in jail or on probation. Most recent problem nearby at all serious has been a woman trying to rent out a house who didn't own it in the first place. That's okay, Riverman1, I thought your post was sarcasm, (like Pops) just had my say anyway. Just want people who think they hear a gunshot to duck, because it might really be, based on our experiences.
