2 men sought in clothing store robbery

Police are looking for two men who robbed an Augusta clothing store Saturday.

At about 9 a.m., two men, one armed with a gun, approached Emily Davis outside It’s Fashion Metro in Southgate Shopping Center, a Richmond County sheriff’s report said. One of the men told Davis to hand over the store’s morning deposit and a purse or else she would be shot.

Witnesses said the men escaped in a gold Mitsubishi Mirage and were seen leaving the vehicle in an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Fayetteville Drive at 9:12 a.m., the report said.

Investigators identified one suspect as Justin Demond Stallworth, 23, and obtained warrants on charges of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

In February 2012, Stallworth was arrested and charged with felony robbery by intimidation after a robbery at Georgia Bank and Trust on Walton Way. Deputies stopped Stallworth and two of his accomplices about 10 minutes after the robbery using detectors in the money.

In March 2009, Stallworth was indicted on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
