As we see yet again the age

As we see yet again
the age of the Teenager has zero relationship to the able to commit a felony. Or Multiple Felonies.

Example

It would behoove the sheriff's department to make an example of him and the court to do so as well. That many counts, he needs some serious punishment. Post info neighborhoods regarding how quickly he was caught and information on his punishment. Not his name, of course.

Staff Reports

From the story:

. . . on two counts of burglary and two counts of motor vehicle theft. Police said some of the charges were related to other incidents.

It would require considerable talent to perform two burglaries and two auto thefts in one incident.

I missed it by one year. I

I missed it by one year. I figured it was another "innocent" 15 year old.

"It would require considerable talent to perform two burglaries and two auto thefts in one incident."

Apparently this was a serial innocent teenager who had committed more than one theft.

I wonder if Williams will be inviting this one's mother down to speak to the commission

Rehab, or Punishment?

Regardless to age, accountability should certainly be established for behavior. Based on some of the things I am reading, all it takes to burgularize and steal is an unmet need and deep seated anger. Somehow, key players are missing this. Depending on the type of punishment, the tax payers wind up footing the bill for housing and feeding the offenders, and in many instances the offenders become more hardened, and do more damage.

No doubt about it, something constructive needs to be done in order to halt this madness, and it would not take a genius to see that the traditional methods are simply not working.

The latest update from

the Sheriff's Department. The 16 year old child is being released and is free to go. They took him to Y.D.C. where Roundtree himself weighed the little tyke. Turns out he only weighs 97 pounds and has allergies.......the arresting officer has been put on administrative leave and has been ordered to attend sensitivity classes......
