Woman sought in south Augusta credit union robbery

Police are investigating a robbery of a south Augusta credit union.

Deputies were called to SRP Federal Credit Union, 3120 Peach Orchard Road, about 2:30 p.m. after a black woman handed a teller a note demanding money.

She was described as 5-foot-1 to 5-foot-5 and wearing a red tank top, dark sweatpants and sunglasses. Police said she was wearing a wig at the time of the robbery, but it was recovered outside the nearby Dollar General.

She was last seen running from the area toward Windsor Spring Road.
