The State newspaper reports 31-year-old Orlando Reeves was charged last week with first-degree burglary and petit larceny for a July 2012 break-in. Prosecutors accuse him of stealing a 12-gauge shotgun.
The crime occurred prior to his arrest on another burglary charge last August, when he worked for Columbia’s parks and recreation department.
In that case, Reeves is accused of stealing about 30 guns worth $50,000.
Reeves’ bond was set Wednesday at $200,000. He must pay the full amount. His attorney argued for less, noting Reeves turned himself in last week after police notified him of a positive DNA match.
