Police searching for fishing gear thief

Police are searching for a man who stole numerous fishing poles from a Broad Street store while covering his face with a life jacket.

According to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the man entered Broadway Bait and Tackle in the 1700 block of Broad Street about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and stole the items.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020.
