Man sentenced over sex with teen

  • Follow Crime & courts

An Augusta man who had a sexual relationship with an underage teen was sentenced to five years in prison Monday.

“If you’re going to know someone well enough to be intimate, you should know him well enough to look at his driver’s license,” Judge Sheryl B. Jolly said before sentencing Eric M. Washington, 24.

Washington pleaded guilty in Richmond County Superior Court to child molestation. He will have an additional 10-year probation sentence.

Washington admitted in June 2011 to having sexual encounters with a 15-year-old whom he mistakenly thought was older.

I think Eric won't have to

I think Eric won't have to worry about looking at drivers' licenses in the slammer. I think he'll have all the love he can handle.

the measure he deserved. The 15 year old needs to spend some time in a youth facility. She knew what she was doing and I'm certain she learned it from her mom by a lack of parental care and discipline. I'm sure this wasn't her first encounter.

Isn't this just wonderful.

This loser gets the exact same sentence from the same judge as a man who killed his own toddler after falling into a drug induced stupor while at the wheel of a car doing 50-60 mph.

Maybe Sheryl Jolly can't count any higher.
