Augusta man stabbed during fight

An Augusta man stabbed in the leg during a fight early Thursday told police he didn’t notice the wounds until the next day.

Tavaris Hart, of Calvary Drive, told police he was at JR’s Mart at 2078 Old Savannah Road around 12:30 a.m. when an unknown man pushed him from behind, a Richmond County sheriff’s report states.

During the ensuing fight, the man wielded a black pocket knife and stabbed Hart in the leg twice.

The reporting officer found two small wounds on Hart’s right thigh.
