Shortly before midnight, police responded to a home in the 2500 block of East Kensington Drive in reference to a loud house party. When deputies arrived, people were running away and the officers later found Marquez Eubanks, 19, and Jeremy Whitehead, 21, with gunshot wounds to the torso.

Eubanks, of C Street, died at Georgia Regents Medical Center early Friday, according to Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose.

Police said Whitehead, of Monte Carlo Drive, was in critical condition Friday.

Dijon Cortez Abbott, 17, of James Drive was arrested by investigators Friday night.

He faces charges of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and two counts of aggravated assault.

Lucy C. Laney High School head football coach Lemuel Lackey said he was devastated by the loss of Eubanks, a former player.

Eubanks graduated in 2012 after four years as a starting lineman.

“He really was a good kid,” said Lackey, who was Eubank’s head coach and position coach. “This was a kid any coach would cherish to coach. I’m devastated. I really am.”

I sat my son down at age 15

I sat my son down at age 15 and told him how it was with police officers. We are white. However, we lived in North Augusta, and NADPS don't play when it comes to young males. They aren't racist, they are hard-nosed on everybody.

nocnoc-Were the only

nocnoc-Were the only shooters, the 2 listed as wounded &killed? No.
What was the reason behind the shooting? With those knuckleheads, no reason is needed.
Was the "good kid" one of the shooters? Don't know, but probably not.
Who was the "legal" owner of the gun the the 19 y/o used? Who says the 19 year old used a gun?
Or was the gun stolen? See above

"Does the mind think rationally under stress?"

Some do, some don't .... The mature, most well adjusted mind is more likely to function better under stress.

Every mind is different. Difficult to be objective concerning something so subjective.

An autopsy showed he died from his wounds.

Well, that's helpful, I guess.

The question of when will BOB

The question of when will BOB crime be viewed the same as others? When the ones who act loud, disrespectful, and selfish begin respecting themselves, others will also. We are taught when going on job interviews, etc, that we only get one chance at a first impression. So, if someone first sees you dressed and acting like a thug, he/she will likely believe you are a thug, even if you have a wall street job you attend in a suit during the week. How you carry yourself will always lend a hand toward first impressions. So, if you want to be respected, respect yourself AND others FIRST!

So why is it still epidemic? What measures need to be taken that have not so far? What are the reasons and solutions? Please fill us in as I've heard no serious discussion about why this goes on, and basically a blind eye turned to it.

"Isanotherday, you make it seem as though rallies have not taken place across many U.S. cities and discussions on ways to reduce the crime committed by blacks against blacks...there are countless studies, suggesting stress, history, and other factors for such high numbers."

Ref: Reese and Runningman

Once again; we have people come on here, do a hit job, spouting their racist jargon, then when you bust them out and ask them to provide proof of their allegations, they vanish!! I really do get sick of this type tactics from race baiters!! When the actual reality is; THEY are the true racist!! Why? Because RACE is what they think with, day in and day out!! In every situation; they've got the race of the people involved on their mind!!! They are looking for the next race scandal!!!

Normal people DO NOT think this way!!!

Another MAJOR story update.

This comment was based on the updated presented on Saturday, July 20, 2013 @ 1:07 AM.

Now the story changes from 1 on 1, to 1 against 2 others.

Given the added details of a 3rd person of maybe being the shooter, may nullify a majority of the comments previously made.

However, the original inaccurate story has already been imbedded in 10,000's minds. (Much like another shooting case we are following and worry about this week.)

Also, The AC should serious re-look the practice of carrying comments forward once the story grows into another story or major details change.

AS OF Sat. @ 7-20-13 @ 6:36
The story for now, "appears" a 17 y/o with a pistol, was the shooter of the 2 others.

There is a good lesson in the progression of this story to be learned.
In this instantaneous media world, media outlets will rush to break a story.

Facts are not as important as being the 1st with the headline.

Apparently one of my posts is apparently too close for comfort for someone. It had one thumbs down shortly after I wrote it. Today the post is gone. Three guesses as to who were the first two that complained about it. One new (to the AC threads) and one chronic. Everything I said was spot on.

And a third person was

And a third person was injured in the shooting, Latrice Nelson?

So, one person dead, two people wounded, and a 17 year old is alive, but with a ruined life.

This is INSANE.

Yes, it is insane. And they

Yes, it is insane. And they have had almost two decades of the problem festering and spreading, because complainants were discounted as racist troublemakers instead of concerned citizens. Yes, it is likely there were some racist troublemakers, but just because a complainant is white (or perceived to be by race-baiting blacks) and the alleged perpetrator is black, doesn't mean the criminal or suspicious behavior doesn't need to be seriously addressed. Now, with a city-county over 50% minority, of course the statistics are going to now be skewed to black on black. I told the neighborhood association when all the non-black targets fled, who was going to be left for the criminals to victimize? The black normally law-abiding citizens who had discounted the whites complaints as racist or prejudiced false accusations would still be talking about, oh, I always leave my back door open and nobody has ever bothered us. Well, they are "bothered" now because of all the black on black crime affecting them ever more directly. Some have even been murdered. Take the blinders off!!!! This is not happening to just other people, or your race or my race. It is happening to nearly EVERYONE! We need to deal with it together, no matter what our race. United we stand; divided we fall. The good Lord made us ALL.

well sir it is becasue its an all too common event, you are probably not aware the the single greatest cause of death of black males between 14-35 yrs old are OTHER BLACK MALES....let me say that again sir...black males between 14-35 "kilt" by other black males is the leading cause of death, not accidents, drownings, sickness, injury, or anything else...and here you have another instance...he's 19 yrs old and the only thing about him is he's an "ex-high school football player at laney high school" he wasn't killed on the job, in the military, saving a relative, or event while swimming he was shot by another black male probably under the age of 35 and there were no protests, there's not al sharpton or brutha jessie jackson, or even one of the local race pimp, bottom feeding, so-called religious/community leaders, this individual will be euligized as a fine upstanding student or person when in actuality he has no job to speak of, no indication he was in college just he was killed at a "house party" and chances are there was weed and alcohol...just another senseless shooting of one gorilla of another........black on black crime is doing plain sight a more efficient job of killing blacks than the klan could ever do and all in plain sight with very little, if any objections or protests.......
