According to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew, Jeffery Pinckney, 54, was at his home on the 1500 block of Lee Beard Way about 10:30 a.m. when he heard the doorbell ring. Soon after, he heard someone trying to break into his backyard shed.

Armed with a handgun, Pinckney approached the man, who was later identified as Kenneth Bernard Parks.

Police said the two men began to fight, and Parks bit Pinckney.

The homeowner was able to hold Parks until deputies arrived.

Parks, 53, was booked into the Richmond County jail on charges of battery and second-degree burglary.

Ding dong.......

So this jackass rang the doorbell and then decided to break into the garden shed? Isn't that a Is alerting the occupants now a normal part of the burglary protocol?

maybe I am wrong But

I might be wrong but do you think that this whole Zimmerman/ Treyvon thing was in Mr. Pinckney's mind when he decided not to just use his gun but fight with the guy? If so, was that more dangerous? You see my issue is that now white people are going to be more reluctant to use their weapons because they don't want to have to go through what Zimmerman has faced. And in doing so they will place themselves in greater danger. Maybe that is what was behind the prosecution of a Zimmerman to begin with.
