Train kills 2 motorists in Crawfordville

Two 26-year-old women are dead after a train struck a vehicle in Crawfordville on Tuesday.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Debbie Curry ran a stop sign at Lexington and Park streets about 5:30 p.m., causing the train to strike the passenger side of the Nissan Altima.

The passenger, Bridget Sheal Turner, died on the way to the hospital. Curry died overnight. Both women were from Crawfordville.

The back-seat passenger, 38-year-old Lorenzo Eugene Alexander, sustained less serious injuries.
