Police said a 36-year-old Augusta man was hospitalized after a run-in with a father who had been told that the man had sex with his underage daughter.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s incident report, the 31-year-old father went over to the Anne Street home where his 12-year-old daughter lives with her mother and siblings about 7 p.m. Saturday to confront Brian Heath Ransom about a tip he had heard regarding Ransom’s relationship with his daughter.

Witnesses told police the argument turned physical and two other men had to step in to break up the fight. Ransom left on foot.

Police caught up with Ransom on Lumpkin Road. An ambulance took him to a hospital for treatment of a cut on his head and complaints of back pain.

The girl told deputies that Ransom touched her inappropriately while she sat on the couch in late June, according to the report. She said they had had intercourse four or five times.

Investigators said Ransom is the son of the owner of the Anne Street home, and was known to stay over at the residence occasionally. The girl’s mother said she was unaware of relationship, according to the report.

Ransom was booked into the Richmond County jail Sunday on a charge of child molestation.

He will most likely get a few more beat downs due to this. At least I hope so anyway!

31 vs 12? Sick. If he is

31 vs 12? Sick. If he is indeed guilty, the father went light on him. Hopefully, justice will prevail. If he is sentenced to prison, the beatings will continue.

Assuming he is guilty as

Assuming he is guilty as charged, I'm glad dad beat the snot out of him; but also glad he stopped short of killing him with his bare hands. He wouldn't be any good as a dad to his daughter if he was in jail.

Lucky Man

A 36 year old man having sex with a 12 year old girl?
If it had been my daughter I would be serving life in prison because I would have killed this scumbag and then I would have killed him again. Then I would have castrated him and killed him one more time. They wouldn't be able to recognize him once I got finished with him. If he is guilty he should never ever be let out of a cage.

Why did they break it up?

Simple
Daddy did not need to go the jail for murder of a child rapest.
Daddy got to put a great can Whoop A%@ on the pervert.

QUESTIONS:
Why did the child feel she could not share the rape with her Mother?
How did the Dad find out and the mother not know?
Was the boyfriend worth what happen to her child?

A lot of times....

The Mom will protect the b/f or it has been mentioned and the mom will disregard it. I know someone who ran a shelter for abused children and you would be shocked at how many moms let this happen because they didn't want to lose their income or place to stay....it would turn your stomach.

A 12 year old girl? Now you

A 12 year old girl? Now you all know that 12-13year old girls are now having consensual sex. And remember historically people have married from 12-25 years of age. So here is a brain teaser-if it's OK for two men or two women to have consensual sex, would it be discriminatory to chastise two 12 year olds who were "in love" and wanted a life long relationship. They are post-pubescent so technically biologically they are mature and could even start a family. 12 year olds and homosexuals were allowed to marry in Ancient Rome. Just playin' the devil's advocate. Pedophiles don't have a choice (like homosexuals it is likely biological) , this is a sexual preference still classified as a perversion, they are most often repeat offenders, so what to do with them. I know our society wants to treat even the most heinous of criminals with some compassion, but this crime needs to be eliminated from the gene pool. It should be a crime that deserves a death penalty rather than prison time.

Another Visit

I also think that the father needs to go have a discussion with mother, who allowed this situation to even be able to have happened. Those that allow the circumstances to occur where 36 year-old boyfriend even has access to 12 year-old daughter. Mom has some responsibility in this also. Hopefully, as the investigation continues, she will be charged with something. And BTW Brian, really like the "neck ink". Stupid...

nocnoc, who knows why she

nocnoc, who knows why she didn't tell her mother, most likely the molester told her that he would kill her mother, or be killed herself, or she would be taken away from her mother, or that her mother wouldn't believe her. A 12 year old child would believe that, the molesters know it. They take time to get to know their victim, they know just what to say.

How did the dad find out? Who knows? She told somebody, that somebody (could've been another sibling, a relative, or a friend) told the father. Unless you think he got the idea by calling Miss Cleo and the Psychic Friends Network.

Was the boyfriend worth it? The mother had no idea that was happening, normal people don't think that way. Normal people do not think that everyone they meet wants to molest their child. Normal people do not think that grown men wants to have sex with a child. You cannot lock a child in a house and think that they will never have contact with anyone, ever.

I'm wondering why you would ask these questions about a 12 year old CRIME VICTIM, you seem to be really interested in this. You seem to want to assign blame to everyone except for the evil monster that did this. This is all on his shoulders, this is all his doing, and nobody else's. I just wonder how many more victims he has out there, this isn't his first time doing this.

Bizkit, for your information,

Bizkit, for your information, anybody that has sex with a 12 year old is guilty of 1st degree rape. There is no such thing as consensual sex by a 12 year old with anybody, they are too young to give consent.

Discrimination isn't the problem, it's about committing a crime.

Why the condescending

Why the condescending attitude corgimom towards nocnoc. I think nocnoc asked some legit questions. How do you know the mother didn't know what was going on? Are you just assuming or do you know for a fact? Normal people may not continuously think everyone they meet want to sexually assault their daughter or lock their child in the house but concerned and wise mothers know to be weary of any and everyone. The potential is always there and it does not pay to get complacent. I didn't see where nocnoc placed blame on anyone, only asked why more care wasn't taken to protect her children. If sex between the 12 year old and the adult male took place several times, then I would agree, someone wasn't watching the children. Blame for what happen falls directly in this mans court but the mother take fault for not being more aware of her daughter. A 12 year old girl does not have sex with a grown adult male without some signs, either physically or mentally.

They are only too young to

They are only too young to give consent according to the law which makes it illegal. If laws were changed to lower the age of consent then it wouldn't be illegal. Normally at 15 you have to have parental consent to marry but if the law is changed then 12 year olds could marry. Homosexual behavior use to be illegal according to the law but isn't any longer. By reason, law could change to allow 12 year olds to give consent.

It's all a matter of what society is agreeable to.

corgimom - Read your response

Please take a minute to re-read my questions with a different frame of mind. Maybe you may have misread the intent behind them. It is a very emotional issue and such misunderstandings often do occur in such situations.

However, one thing I do know for sure.
The GA Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS)and the
RCSO will be obviously looking into it. Their questions, while similar, will be much more detailed and sharply pointed.
