Blythe woman accused of aggravated assault

A Blythe woman has been accused of aggravated assault following an altercation Thursday that left the victim with a 3-inch laceration.

Angela Laughlin Etterlee, 43, of Etterlee Road, was booked into the Augusta-Richmond County Jail about 1 a.m. Friday on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, jail records show.

About 8:43 p.m. Thursday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4500 block of Etterlee Road, where they found Clifton Lee Allen, of Blythe, with a cut to his left shoulder about 3 inches long and about an inch deep, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Etterlee told deputies she has known Allen since 2006, but the two have only lived together for a week. She blamed Allen, saying the two had argued after he drank three beers, that he pulled her hair, tried to choke her and pulled a knife on her first. She said she grabbed a steak knife and cut Allen on the shoulder to defend herself.

But after being interviewed by Criminal Investigation Division personnel, Etterlee was arrested and taken to jail.
