Name of 12th suspect in Augusta man's homicide released

Darryus Sergio Jackson, 22, of Wadley is wanted in the slaying of Kenneth Quarterman Jr.

Authorities released the name of a 12th suspect in the June 16 fatal shooting of an Augusta man in Louisville, Ga.

Darryus Sergio Jackson, 22, of Wadley is wanted in the slaying of Kenneth Quarterman Jr., Jefferson County District Attorney Hayward Altman said Monday. A warrant was issued Friday but the name was withheld.

Quarterman, 23, was found on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East Fifth Street shortly after midnight Saturday. He was taken to Jef­ferson Hospital and airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where he died.

A second man, Charles Lewis Brown III, 25, of Wrens, was shot in the head but survived.

Nine people have been arrested so far. Along with Jackson, two other suspects Octavius Desmond “Tay Tay” Hickson and Dalonte Jerrod “Big J” Tarver are still at large.
