Ex-Butler High School band director acquitted of sex charges

A former Butler High School band director accused of having sex with students was acquitted of all criminal charges Wednesday.

The Richmond County Superior Court jury found Anthony Shelton not guilty of six sexual assault charges. Shelton, 42, testified as the final witness in his trial. He told the jury that he never had a sexual relationship with any student.

Shelton was accused of having sex with three students during the 2007-08 school year.
