Warrenton man robbed at knifepoint near Cherry Tree Crossing

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who robbed a Warrenton, Ga., man at knifepoint near Cherry Tree Crossing on Saturday morning.

Quinderiaus Meyers, 23, of Parham Street, told authorities he made arrangements online to meet the suspect, who goes by “Rock,” at Smart Grocery at 3221 Wrightsboro Road around 9:30 a.m., a police report said.

Meyers met with the man, who asked Meyers to drive him to the 1600 block of Hunter Street so he could see his sister. When the suspect exited the car, he brandished a knife and told Meyers to hand over his cellphone and money, the report said. After Meyers gave the suspect $10 and his Android phone, the suspect ran off.

The robber is described as a black man between 20 and 21. He was wearing a lime green shirt and khaki cargo shorts, and has dreadlocks. He is known to frequent the Cherry Tree Crossing area, the report said.
