Torvory Curry was charged with driving with a suspended license.

Torvory Orverice Curry, 35, surrendered to authorities and was charged with driving on a suspended license and with an open container. He was released from the Columbia County Detention Center on Thursday after posting a $2,200 bond, according to jail records.

Curry was driving on Washington Road near the Little River bridge about 10:15 p.m. when he was hit head-on by a Saturn driven by Brian Allen Orzechowski, 36. Orzechowski had left his wedding reception and was headed to Pointes West Army Resort with his bride, Crystal Lynn Krentler, 35, when he crossed the center line.

Orzechowski died at the scene. Krentler was in fair condition Thursday at Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Curry was taken to Doctors Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Not Life Threatening

Is Curry out of the hospital? It would seem so, since he "surrendered to authorities."

If so, then I would re-write the first sentence in the last paragraph:

Curry was taken to Doctors Hospital and has been released.

The "not believed to be life-threatening" statement is a bit weird to me.

Why??

Why is this even newsworthy?

How many driving while suspended or open container citations are written every day?

Because in this case there was, (and **privately still is), a question as to the contribution of Mr. Curry to the accident.

** I got that from someone close to the deceased. They indicated to me that the investigation is ongoing from the family's side, which I assume would be normal and natural when you lose a loved one like that.

The article, the ususal gibberish from the A/C, is hard to follow, but it seems that Curry was not the primary fault of the wreck. Is that true? The license is an issue, but in a head on wreck who is to say the container did not pop open? If I had a head on crash and survived and had a beer in the car, I would dang sure down it to calm my nerves, after the wreck!

I understand Mr.Curry had 2 moving violations

If there had not been a death involved this would not have been in the news, he would have done what he needed to get his license reinstated (it could have been he could not find the 15 pieces of Identification needed to renew your license). He did have an open container but was not driving under the influence. He could have settled this with a fine unless he was a habitual violator and I do not believe the to be the case, the media would love to be able to report that and they have not.
I feel bad for the family involved, the bride and friends on the loss of their loved one. I feel for Mr. Curry because it seems he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time

Has anyone figured out why Orzechowski was in the wrong lane to start with? Bad road design? Car malfunction? Driver?
