Letters stolen from subdivision sign

  • Follow Crime & courts

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to determine who stole aluminum lettering this week from a subdivision sign in Augusta.

Black lettering on the Spirit Pointe concrete sign, at Brown Road and Patriot Drive, was taken between Monday and Thursday, according to Richmond County sheriff’s investigators.

The incident is being investigated by the C.S.R.A. Metal Theft Task Force, which is a collaboration between law enforcement and recycling centers to reduce and deter metal theft in the state.

Anyone with information can call Investigator Kendall Brown or an on-duty investigator at (706) 821-1440.

The real question here is

The real question here is what was spelled after they removed the letters? I don't see metal thieves only taking SOME of the letters and leaving the others if that's what they're there for...

I'd like to buy a vowel, Pat

Spirit Pointe, Spirit Pointe...nope, can't figure out how to make any obscene words by removing a few letters, so it can't have been teenagers pulling a prank.

It's getting bad out here. I

It's getting bad out here. I used to say they would steal anything that wasn't nailed down. Now they will steal stuff that IS nailed down. I make two random, armed patrols of my property at night, before and after midnight because of the increasing crime in the Brown Rd, Old Waynesboro, Hephzibah-McBean area. The "city's" Section 8 export policy is doing just what they intended. Too bad someone couldn't have seen this happening and put a load of buckshot in their butts.

Yeah, at a subdivision on Old Petersburg road someone stole some black letters. The original sign said:

Candlewood
Crossing

The message after the heist said:

Candlewood
. . . . sin .
