Ronald Jin Man Pak, 47, of the 4200 block of Aerie Circle, was arrested as he was leaving the Wells Fargo Bank at 489 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez, said Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

Pak is a local attorney specializing in immigration and nationality law.

Deputies responded to an alarm at the bank shortly after 2 p.m., when Morris said Pak approached a teller, said he had a gun and demanded cash.

Pak didn’t show a weapon and left without receiving any money, and was apprehended while driving away from the bank parking lot, Morris said.

He was charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony and was being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.

Where's the Beef?

He probably wanted to see what life behind bars is like, so he can better advise his clients. However, since there was no weapon produced and since no money changed hands, he will be disappointed when he receives only probation.

He is a troubled soul

and has been hospitalized for mental illness before. Somehow he has held on to his law license and his family has been very supportive. Hope he gets his life sorted out though I am sure he will lose his law license if convicted or pleads guilty.
