NEW ZION, S.C. — Two people are dead and a third is missing in what authorities say appears to be a crime spree through rural South Carolina.

Authorities say they are looking for a man for questioning in the shooting death of an employee of a Clarendon County recycling center as well as a convenience store clerk in Charleston County. They also want to talk to him about the disappearance of a 77-year-old Clarendon County woman.

Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett says the suspect was last seen in a stolen vehicle and may be headed toward Savannah, Ga. Authorities think there may be a second occupant in the car.

Deputies want to question the man in the shooting death of 37-year-old Crystal Johnson of Adams Run in Charleston County.

She was killed in a Thursday afternoon robbery. Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon said that a customer walked into the store about 4 p.m. and found Johnson’s body in the bathroom.

At about the same time, an employee of the recycling center in New Zion in Clarendon County was found dead by her daughter who went to the center after she could not reach her mother by phone. The identity of the 65-year-old worker has not been released.

Deputies are looking for Sadie Brown of New Zion who was reported missing Thursday by her caregiver. She lives near the recycling center.

She was last seen Saturday. Garrett said he is hopeful, but doesn’t expect to find the woman still alive. A SLED helicopter and search teams were called in to look in the nearby woods for Brown’s body

In Charleston County, Johnson’s sister, Christie Moultrie, 38, said the cash drawer in the convenience store was sitting on the counter and her sister was lying on the bathroom floor.

She said Johnson was married with three children and that their aunt owns the store where Johnson worked part time.

“Whoever did this, I hope they suffer the maximum penalty,” Moultrie said.

I would be tickled if the perp resisted arrest and deadly force was utilized. I don't imagine a LEO would lose much sleep over dispatching this kind of subhuman.

Who is the "Person of Interest"? Or at the very least, what is the description of the suspect? What's the description of the stolen vehicle he is supposed to be in? How is anyone to know who/what to be looking for?
