Woman stabbed outside Deans Bridge store

A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed outside Family Dollar on Deans Bridge Road around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Monica Belser, the 27-year-old was stabbed in a fight that resulted from a car accident that possibly occurred in a different location.

Police suspect the victim was the aggressor in the fight and that the other person acted in self-defense.

No further details are being released because it is an ongoing investigation.
