Richmond County sheriff’s investigators have identified Kevin D. Richardson as a suspect in the beatings and robbery of Wesley Spires and Ashley Solesbee at Riverwalk Augusta last week and are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

If you have any information, call the Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1080. Callers may remain anonymous.

Solesbee, 25, and Spires, 27, both of South Carolina, were attacked with metal bats or pipes about 11 p.m. May 3. Both had facial fractures and head wounds, and Spires had a broken hand.

Solesbee was released from University Hospital on Monday, but Spires remains in critical condition, according to relatives.

The reward money didn't take

The reward money didn't take very long.. Hopefully cameras, substations, and increased bike/foot patrols come out of this terrible incident.

If found guilty

It is too bad the judge cannot sentence him to the same punishment be the same as inflected.

maybe it's just me, but wasn't his picture in the chronicle not too long ago about something else? nonetheless, i'm sure the coward will be caught soon and all of his family can cry about what a good man he is.

Excellent work community.

Excellent work community.

@Ego - I was thinking the same thing about his mug.

To all the wannabe thugs, we know who you are, and in case we dont, we will find out who you are. This is OUR community, not YOUR picking ground.

Make room...

Make room under the jail for one more....soon his partner will be caught too.

Punishment needs to be swift and decisive... The punishment must be harsh....their punishment needs to serve as a deterrent.

No long jail term with 3 meals a day and free health care,

We don't need to waste valuable and scarce resources on this scum of the earth.

Society wants, no needs, criminals to get just punishment for their uncivilized actions.

What's Odd about this

What's Odd about this? IS it not kind of strange that nobody would drop a hint as to whom it was until a reward was offered. Have we become such desperate savages now to not do the right thing and turn in a criminal for their breaking of the law with monetary reward. What ever happened to integrity and civic duty or honor? To me this person's race is of no issue although I do agree that people need to stop looking the other way because of race and worry of someone screaming discrimination. Let's get past this and return to what we know is the right thing to do!

Nocnoc Hit the Nail on the Head
Unpublished

Nocnoc hit the nail square on the head. The problem we have is that we cannot inflict the same punishment to this piece of yaksqueeze, that he gave to his victims. Mr. Spires will have facial pain for the rest of his life. This is not the only person in downtown that has been beaten and left for dead. My only wish is that someone finds Kevin before the law does. He has been positively ID'd by the other victim. There is no excuse to allow him to continue to consume oxygen.

Funny...

how money will pull people out of the woodwork. I guess he'll know who ratted when they show up with a new ride. I hope they throw away the key with this jackass. You can be forgiven, but you still pay with punishment.

As long as we law abiding citizens refer to a witness as a person who "ratted" everyone will be hesitant to come forward. How about someone did the right thing because it is 'right'.

With out lights and a carry permit we are all subject to the low lives who roam this world. Me or mine and they both would be walking around on a wounded knee. That would slow them down the next time the wanted to hit and run!

I see from the mug shot it

I see from the mug shot it ain't his first dance. Another product of our catch and release judges who has been emboldened by our total lack of significant punishment. If this is one of the beaters, he is well on his way to his inevitable status as a murderer.

No samrob3, I am not surprised. Gland you said that. If I had it would probably have been pulled.

Tip for Kevin

The weave is not a good look.

If you're going to play the part of a genuine B/A thug, you should avoid looking like a princess.

I would be ashamed to claim a reward. It's like saying, well I knew who it was, but wasn't going to tell unless I got paid. That type of person is almost as bad as the criminal.

@Fiat Lux -- He might as well start working on his look - he's going to BE someone's "princess" soon...
@Triscuit - You are absolutely right, but these kinds of people don't really understand "right", but they DO understand "money".

A history lesson for Fiat

Those are dreadlocks.

Weave is fake hair. Dreadlocks are formed from real hair. Anyone of any race can have locs. I've seen a Korean man with locs.

.
You must really be a bad shot to miss center of mass that far. Suggest you schedule some time on the practice range.
