Broad Street brawl happened over argument about woman, police say

Police said a Broad Street brawl last month was the result of an argument over a woman.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew said they’ve interviewed several witnesses but have not been able to find the six to seven men and one woman who attacked a man and his girlfriend.

A video of the fight surfaced earlier this week showing people getting kicked, stomped and beaten in the 900 block of Broad Street about 2:30 a.m. April 27.

Police later found an incident report detailing the fight.

According to police, Jeremy Privette, 23, and Leonard Samuels were arguing with the men for confronting and making advances on a woman at their party. Then the men hit Privette and Samuels.

The woman, Yolanda Spratley, 21, was also beaten when she tried to pull the men off Privette. A woman also joined in the fight.

According to the video, the crowd dispersed after shots were fired.

The three victims were taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center. Spratley was treated for a mild concussion and bruises. Both male victims received several staples in their heads.

Chew said the victims plan to file charges against their assailants.
