Police said a Broad Street brawl last month was the result of an argument over a woman.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew said they’ve interviewed several witnesses but have not been able to find the six to seven men and one woman who attacked a man and his girlfriend.

A video of the fight surfaced earlier this week showing people getting kicked, stomped and beaten in the 900 block of Broad Street about 2:30 a.m. April 27.

Police later found an incident report detailing the fight.

According to police, Jeremy Privette, 23, and Leonard Samuels were arguing with the men for confronting and making advances on a woman at their party. Then the men hit Privette and Samuels.

The woman, Yolanda Spratley, 21, was also beaten when she tried to pull the men off Privette. A woman also joined in the fight.

According to the video, the crowd dispersed after shots were fired.

The three victims were taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center. Spratley was treated for a mild concussion and bruises. Both male victims received several staples in their heads.

Chew said the victims plan to file charges against their assailants.

Well,

I hope she was worth it, and no doubt our taxes are paying for that visit to the hospital.

Really?

Not sure, I believe this press release. Last week, we knew nothing about this brawl but now that downtown seems to not be safe, we magically find a police report. And it was just a domestic incident, that has been handled by all the parties involved. Nothing to see here, move along. To try to downplay that attack as regular guy/girl drama is irresponsible. Call it what it was.

Only An Etiquette Dispute

Probably a simple dispute over dinner etiquette. One of the ladies must have not started with the outside fork working her way in and to her chagrin endured a rebuff.

What's Hard to Believe?

I'm not understanding why the validity of this story (the explanation) is being questioned. Arguments and fights amongst men occur over women often and have since the beginning of time. I'm thinking some individuals may have delighted in hearing these young people (of a certain persuasion) were involved in something more malicious and evil.

Shame, shame!

so this is not a thing new

men are always fighting over women they just got caught on tape it is a shame that some men can't respect women then these fights would not happen and other women need to stay out of fights when they do happen there have been fights over women sense the beginning of time .but people need to keep their bussiness out of the streets maybe the best thing is for some people to stay at home so they can keep a eye on their ladies and other men could not make comments to them

A comment should just roll

A comment should just roll off your shoulders and you should ignore the person who is doing the talking. That is the right thing to do. Fighting just shows how much sense you have. I hope they do press charges and get a jail time.

The Obama administration

The Obama administration would be proud of the Augusta Police Dept. They have pulled out the play book to spin and scrub a incident that showed actions in unfavorable light. The question is, do you believe the official account or your lying eyes?
