Three men were formally charged with drug and weapons offenses Tuesday after leading police on a chase through downtown Aiken the previous day.

According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Kentrell Brown, 21, of Augusta, was charged with trafficking crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a stolen pistol, failure to stop for blue lights and no driver’s license.

Rodriquez Jackson, 21, of Aiken, and Rashawn Carter, 23, of Augusta, were charged with trafficking crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a stolen pistol.

Carter was also served with two outstanding bench warrants for no South Carolina driver’s license and no vehicle license.

After gunfire was reported in the Pinecrest neighborhood about 5:11 p.m. Monday, police attempted to stop the men’s white Chevrolet Malibu as it was driving away from the neighborhood.

The driver sped away, initiating a chase around Aiken and into the central business district. The car was finally stopped at Plunkett Avenue and Laurens Street, where officers arrested the three men.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the shots fired in the Pinecrest neighborhood. Anyone with information related to this incident can call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC and can remain anonymous. Callers could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Gun Control

Here is a textbook case of why the proposed new laws attempting to reduce gun "violence" by tightening regulations will never work. Here are three men who have no intention of obeying laws of any kind.

Is there any chance that Joe Biden or Diane Feinstein will read this Chronicle story and get a clue?

The only way that...

those 2 would have any contact with these 3 individuals at all is to proclaim that their civil rights should be restored as soon as possible so they can vote a straight democratic ticket.

these three morons to the couple in upstate Carolina allowing and furnishing alcohol to underage kids. When you're this permissive, there is no doubt as to your political persuasion.
