Aiken shooting suspect caught in Augusta

A suspect in a shooting in Aiken County this month was captured Saturday in Augusta.

According to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Frank Muns was captured at America’s Best Inn & Suites on Gordon Highway with assistance from Richmond County deputies and U.S. marshals.

An anonymous tip led police to the location. Muns is being held in the Richmond County jail pending an extradition hearing.

He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the April 6 shooting of Kim Turner, who was shot on Beard Road in Beech Island while sitting in her vehicle.
