David Anthony Alexander, 36, of Skeeter Lane, was charged with possession of computer pornography as part of Operation Guarding Innocence. The three-month investigation, coordinated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, targeted 98 people statewide.
On April 11, authorities searched Alexander’s former residence on Belair Drive, which he shared with his mother, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris. A computer seized had nothing of interest to investigators.
Alexander was tracked to Skeeter Lane. Investigators got his consent to search his laptop, where they reportedly found several files containing child porn. Investigators took possession of the computer.
Alexander surrendered Wednesday within an hour after deputies contacted his mother, according to Morris.
He was released from the Columbia County Detention Center early Thursday after posting $15,100 bond, according to jailers.
