Police searching for convenience store robber

Police are searching for a man dressed in all black who robbed a Wrightsboro Road gas station at gunpoint Monday evening.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the man covered his face with a bandana and entered Kangaroo Express, 3434 Wrightsboro Road, shortly before midnight with a handgun.

The clerk told police the man, who is black, demanded she put cash in a bag.

He was last seen running from the store toward Augusta Mall with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Stakeouts. They work, just look at the sharp drop in robberies when Richmond County did it way back.

Sharp shooters in strategic locations scattered all over the county could accomplish a lot. Those hoodlums would never know where someone would be "waiting" for them.
