2 sought after fuel found missing

Richmond County deputies are looking for two men they believe stole fuel from four tractor trailers parked at an Augusta business.

According to a sheriff’s report, a truck driver told police that when he arrived at 1231 Gordon Highway to hook up his tractor to his trailer, he saw two men in a small Toyota or Mazda pickup with a large red barrel and a pump in the back speed away from between two parked tractor trailers.

The driver said all tractor trailers in the yard had two full tanks of fuel so they can “hook up and go.” Four trucks were each discovered to be missing one tank of fuel.
