Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2300 block of Lumpkin Road, where they found William Hugh Hixon, 27, “unresponsive with a hypodermic needle in his lap” in the driver’s seat, the report says.

Paramedics said Hixon admitted to injecting himself with heroin, according to the report. He was arrested and charged with deprivation of a minor.

The boy was released to his mother, the report said.
