Samantha Janes Scott, 21, and Randy Lee Scott, 36, of Swainsboro, Ga., are charged with murder and concealing the death of another in the suspected slaying of 75-year-old Kenneth Wiley Janes, the news release said.
Eve Rodgers, an assistant special agent in charge with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, said some family members recently came to authorities with concerns about Janes’ whereabouts. They also reported that his daughter was using a debit card that belonged to Janes, she said.
Investigators on Friday found what they suspect is Janes’ body in a makeshift grave at the Scott Family Cemetery in northern Emanuel County, the release said.
Investigators are unsure how long Janes had been missing, Rodgers said. The body has been sent to a GBI crime lab to be identified through DNA analysis. The cause and time of death have yet to be determined, she said.
