Richmond County sheriff’s Investigator Cheryl Dorsey said deputies tried to stop a speeding Cadillac on Jimmie Dyess Parkway and Gordon Highway around 4:15 a.m.

The chase ended at 4127 Powell Mill Road when the driver, William Nealous, drove into a private driveway and hit a light pole, overturning the vehicle.

Nealous suffered a bloody nose and complained of abdominal pain.

Deputies issued Nealous citations for failure to stop at a stop sign, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving under the influence.
