Police are searching for a couple of shoplifters who attacked an Augusta Mall employee with tear gas on Wednesday.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report, a man and a woman entered Victoria’s Secret about 1:30 p.m. and put items into a shopping bag.

An employee told police she was trying to stop the shoplifters from leaving when the woman sprayed her in the face with tear gas. The couple ran toward the mall exit with the stolen merchandise.

The police report states the shoplifters made off with nine pairs of pants and five T-shirts, valued around $450.

Actually, froggy

Augusta Mall may be less safe than the projects.

Those slime balls need to experience mace for themselves. They stepped that shoplifting charge right up to strong arm robbery and assault. I hope they get caught quickly and pounded into pulp for attacking someone who is working in a crazy place for peanuts.

This is what comes with entitlements and from raising kids in daycare or leaving them to raise themselves: Narcissistic predators who believe everything belongs to them by divine right.

assumption

The mall is no safer than the project area, it was posted. The folks in the project might take offense at the stereotype. Actually the mall is unsafe. Period.

Maybe not IN the Mall itself,

but shots definitely have been fired inside, and big, group fights are not unheard of.

The thievery is pervasive though. I refused to allow my daughter to work in the Mall. Who wants to deal with the kind of people who would pull something like this sorry loser couple didd?

Most people there aren't doing anything of the kind, but enough are to make it a bad idea, IMO, to be there without a good reason.

Never had any trouble at

Never had any trouble at Augusta Mall. Just some of the people strolling walk abreast and dare you not to move out of their way. Not very polite and some of the clothes are downright nasty looking.

The mall

should employ off duty police officers in plain clothes to roam the mall, gernerally putting pressure on those just hanging out. Hear them throwing the f-bomb around. toss them. See them walking 5 abreast impeding oncoming people, break it up and tell them the next time you see it they are gone. See a group just standing around, go up to them and remind them there is no loitering, move on. When you have to warn them, take a picture and let them know that if they get tossed, they will be trespassing and criminally charged if they come back.

The fun will soon be gone and so will they. There will be howls of discrimination because the majority of the youth in question are not white. However, they have nothing to stand on if all groups are treated the same with regard to mall rules.

Please run for mayor, or President

Itsanotherday, you absolutely have the right plan. Now, if someone with the authority to deal with this could actually see it, we'd be in business--literally.

Why don't you take the position as a plain clothes security since you have all the answers

delerious, someone needs to

delerious, someone needs to have the answers. Those kind of people just cause alot of problems for shoppers and business does not want them around.
