Rosa Allien Timpson, 23; De’Metria Michelle Osborne, 20; and Laquandra Sashun Fenn, 34, all of Sumter Landing Lane, and Markisha Shaundralyn Jackson, 21, of Old Evans Road, were charged with making false statements. Timpson also was charged with making a false report of a crime, and Fenn was charged with a seat-belt violation and driving on a suspended license.
Timpson and Jackson told deputies that they had stopped Feb. 25 to help stranded motorists who waved them down about 10:30 p.m. on Conn Drive near Sumter Landing subdivision. The women said Timpson stopped the BMW she was driving to help the two men, who had their flashers blinking on their SUV.
The women said the men threatened them, after which one man stole the BMW and the other drove away in the SUV.
Authorities discovered that the carjacking had never happened. Timpson and Jackson were arrested Feb. 27. Osborne and Fenn were arrested Friday.
Jackson and Osborne were being held in the Columbia County Detention Center on Monday on $10,100 bond each, according to jail records. Timpson was being held on an $11,700 bond, and Fenn on a $12,300 bond, according to jail records.
