Sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew said undercover officers went to C-Mart Gas Station, 3403 Mike Padgett Highway, after receiving several complaints and found video gambling machines giving cash payouts. Chew said most gaming machines are legal to operate but cash payouts are illegal.

The investigation continued for several months before police issued search warrants Tuesday morning. All of the video gambling machines were confiscated, along with $56,000.

The store’s owner, Hemant Phutane, 36, of Spring House Lane, and a clerk, Mukundlal Jayswal, 57, have been charged with felony commercial gambling and misdemeanor charges of possession of a gambling device and keeping a gambling place.

The state of GA can run a gambling operation....

but its citizens cannot. Lunacy. Don't you just love the mindset of politicians. Gambling corrupts individuals and destroys some families. Let's start a federal "number racket". You know like the one organized crime used to make millions. And instead of breaking knee caps like organized crime, we will send over the police to enforce our gambling rules.

No wonder foreign businessmen are confused in America. If the government can lie, cheat, steal, gamble and sell drugs, why can't the citizens? Corruption is corruption, right?

These kind of things have gone on forever. Machines that payout in games that you can cash in...with a wink.
