COLUMBIA — Richland County officials have released the name of an inmate who hanged himself in jail.

The State newspaper reported that 50-year-old Robin O. Mock hanged himself in a traffic court facility in Columbia on Friday.

Mock died at Palmetto Health Richland hospital.

Coroner Gary Watts says Mock had been arrested for disorderly conduct.

The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating the hanging.
