An Augusta teen charged with multiple counts of burglary and robbery pleaded guilty Monday, bypassing a jury trial set to begin in Richmond County Superior Court.

Marvin N. Major, 18, was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation in a plea deal accepted by Judge James G. Blanchard Jr.

Major was one of the suspects targeted as a result of 2011’s Operation Smoke Screen.

Major, according to the indictment, tried to sell stolen items including a laptop, a video game system and a .38-caliber handgun. Major was also accused of committing several burglaries in September and October 2011 and robbing a couple on Oct. 4, 2011.

His picture, the general locations he stole items from and who to contact about unclaimed evidence items that are still being held.

There are a number of people on South Side still missing pistols, rifles, chainsaws, power tools, golf carts and etc. All from the time period Operation Smoke Screen was running and collecting.

Please continue these operations

While campaigning, Sheriff Roundtree vowed to end these operations. Is this still the Sheriffs stance? If so, please review these results and reconsider. We want you to be the best Sheriff ever but you have to get results like these operations can give you. Take the criminal off the street.

I'm still missing a coffee

I'm still missing a coffee maker, electric razor, hair dryer and 8-track player from 1978.
